ATLANTA, Nov. 24, 2008 -- Silverpop CEO Bill Nussey has been named by the business publication TechJournal South as one of the 25 most influential people in the Southeast technology community.
The November issue of the magazine features 25 people identified for working to foster an entrepreneurial spirit and build the technology sector in a geographic area stretching from the Potomac region to South Florida. TechJournal's 25 are recognized for "making a difference in the region's technology economy...be it through capital investments, through organizational work, ground breaking research, by growing successful companies, or by a combination of areas."
Nussey has shepherded Silverpop to consistent success over the last eight years as its CEO. In 2007, the company was named the second-fastest growing technology company in Georgia by Deloitte. Silverpop currently has over 325 employees serving more than 1,000 clients throughout the world. And with 17 quarters of positive cash flow, Silverpop is well positioned to meet marketers' growing demands for efficient and cost-effective online marketing tools.
Before joining Silverpop, Nussey was president and CEO of iXL, Inc., a publicly traded e-business consulting firm. During his three-year tenure, iXL executed its initial public offering, turned profitable, grew revenues from $10 million to $120 million per quarter, and grew its headcount from 400 to over 2,000 employees. Prior to iXL, he was an investment professional with the venture capital firm Greylock Management Corporation. Nussey also co-founded and was CEO of DaVinci Systems, an award-winning email software company.
"Certainly I'm honored by this recognition, which underscores Silverpop's tremendous successes," Nussey said. "We've staked a claim as a premier, enterprise-level provider of on-demand marketing solutions, and have led the marketplace with innovative answers to marketers' needs. For example, Silverpop was the first email service provider to offer a true lead-management solution that affords BtoB marketers the ability to score and nurture prospects through the sales pipeline. We were the first company to develop individualized RSS feeds, enabling marketers to reach customers in unique and targeted ways. And our latest innovation, Share-to-Social, has found tremendous success among marketers eager to extend brand awareness to social networking sites."
Silverpop is a premier email service provider delivering a comprehensive array of on-demand, Web-based software solutions serving the online relationship marketing needs of enterprise-level organizations throughout the world. With highly scalable tools supporting both BtoC marketing initiatives and BtoB lead management processes through its Vtrenz solution, Silverpop delivers a robust suite of marketing tools not available elsewhere in the marketplace.
